Ilham Ehmed, Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES), emphasized the importance of reconciliation and negotiations to resolve the Syrian crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Speaking at the workshop titled \u201cReturn is a right… Neither forgotten nor abandoned\u201d held in Raqqa, Ehmed stated that the only way to a solution is through national reconciliation and negotiations: \u201cA political solution and general reconciliation with international support are important.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSocial work needs to be activated. The current chaos is not in anyone’s interest. The Autonomous Administration is ready for security and will do what it has to do. The Syrian Transitional Government must fulfill its responsibilities in the context of building a new Syria,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emphasizing the importance of political work with the participation of all parties under international supervision, she continued: “Otherwise, political justice will not be achieved and the war will not end. We do not accept a return to the old Baathist system. They cannot cling to centralization and tyranny. The construction of a new Syria can only be achieved through the recognition of the identity of all components. A national congress must be held with the participation of all parties. A political agreement under the umbrella of the constitution will secure the common future of all the Syrian people.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rejecting claims that the Autonomous Administration wants to divide Syria, Ilham Ehmed said that decentralization is necessary to protect the diversity and participation of all components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis also guarantees the participation of women. We will never back down from these demands,\u201d she underlined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Referring to the points agreed upon with the Transitional Government, Ehmed noted that the committee on the return of migrants has not yet held a single meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDespite the promises made by Ahmed al-Sharaa, President of the Syrian Transitional Government, the committee has not yet convened. This demonstrates a stance against the provisions of the March 10 agreement. This line of action hinders the transition process. Therefore, this situation poses a threat to the transition process and creates a greater threat of the country sliding into civil war,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
