In a message to the international delegation, in Turkey to request a meeting with \u00d6calan, the Kurdish leader said: \u201cI have been informed of your request to meet.I hope that in the period ahead, the conditions necessary for such a meeting will emerge.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abdullah \u00d6calan sent a message to the 39-member foreign delegation visiting Turkey to meet with him. The delegation, consisting of politicians, journalists, and activists from various countries, arrived in Turkey yesterday and began their meetings in Istanbul. They met with the DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bak\u0131rhan at the Istanbul office of the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a series of meetings, the delegation met at a \u201cround table\u201d meeting at a hotel in Taksim. At this meeting, \u00d6calan\u2019s message to the international delegation was read out, which states the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo the Esteemed Friends…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your effort to bring attention to the quest for freedom embodied in my person, and your request to meet with me\u2014undertaken despite the long journey\u2014are profoundly meaningful and valuable to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Above all, I do not regard such an effort merely as an act of personal solidarity or an individual search for freedom; rather, I see it as part of the will for social peace, a democratic resolution, and the shared aspiration of peoples to live freely together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have never considered my personal freedom separately from social freedom. Indeed, I have always maintained that individual liberties cannot find their true meaning in the absence of social emancipation. For this reason, I view your initiative as a meaningful contribution and a courageous call for the shared democratic future of our peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been informed of your request to meet. I hope that in the period ahead, the conditions necessary for such a meeting will emerge. In this regard, I send my greetings and respect to everyone who has contributed\u2014not only on my behalf, but also in support of the democratic will and the quest for freedom of our peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the hope that we may meet face to face in days of freedom, within a society where democracy has truly taken root\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
