Hardt is best known for his 2000 book&nbsp;<em>Empire<\/em>&nbsp;and 2004 book&nbsp;<em>Multitude: War and Democracy in the Age of Empire,&nbsp;<\/em>both<em>&nbsp;<\/em>co-written with Antonio Negri, one of the leading Marxist and communist philosophers of our time. Hardt&#8217;s message reads as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I admire and support the decision by \u00d6calan and by the PKK to forge a new path toward peace and democracy. For this process, the Kurdish movement will have to invent a new meaning for peace and new political structures for democracy. I am confident that it can succeed in this task, despite repressive forces, because it has shown time and again the power to innovate politically.
